Dr. Stella Mourouzidou Damtsa, CFA is a finance professional, academic, and senior banking executive with extensive banking experience. She holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from the University of Manchester and is a CFA charterholder.
She currently serves as Manager – Segments and Propositions at Bank of Cyprus, with responsibility for customer segments, loyalty schemes, CRM, analytics, and business intelligence. Over her long career at Bank of Cyprus, she has held senior leadership roles including Regional Manager (Nicosia), Manager Strategy and Premier Banking, Head of Premier Banking, and Private Banking Unit Head.
Alongside her professional role, Dr. Mourouzidou Damtsa is a Lecturer in Finance at European University Cyprus, where she teaches across areas such as financial analysis and valuation, portfolio management, options and futures, placing strong emphasis on real-world application and professional standards.
Her research interests focus on the intersection of bank risk-taking, national culture, deposits, profitability, and financial technology. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of Financial Stability and the Review of Corporate Finance, and she is the author of an ongoing working paper on national culture, bank profitability, and fintech. Her paper “National Culture and Bank Deposits” received the Best Paper Award at the 2017 University of Manchester DBA Conference.
Dr. Mourouzidou Damtsa actively contributes to professional and public discourse through conference participation, media interviews, and podcasts, covering topics such as housing loans, interest rate risk, investment decision-making, and macroeconomic conditions. She has presented at international academic conferences including the International Finance and Banking Society (IFABS) and the Ioannina Meeting on Applied Economics and Finance (IMAEF).
She also serves as an External Mentor (IDEA) and as a Board Member of Mana Nursery School, a charitable organisation focused on early childhood education.
