Jana Heckenbergerová, Ph.D.
About
Jana Heckenbergerová graduated in Mathematical and Computer Modelling (2004), and received a PhD degree in Applied Mathematics – Mathematical Statistics (2009), both from the Palacký University in Olomouc, Czech Republic and under the supervision of prof. Lubomír Kubáček.
From 2004 to 2005 she worked as a system specialist in the Laboratory of Intelligent Systems, Czech Railways. Since 2005 she has been a lecturer and assistant professor at the University of Pardubice. She spent two years (2009–2011) as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Alberta, Canada. She was also a part time research assistant at the Institute of Computer Science in the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (2009–2013).
She published more than 50 communications including almost 20 journal papers, one co-authored monography and around 30 papers at major international conferences. Her research work is mainly focused on the intersection of three subject areas: applied statistics, energy and environmental informatics and economy, but she loves to use all kinds of mathematical methods to solve practical engineering problems.
