Prof. Simona Mihai‑Yiannaki is a distinguished finance scholar and academic leader, the Chairperson of the Department of Accounting, Economics and Finance at European University Cyprus (EUC), and also serves as Visiting Professor at LUMSA University (Roma) on Sustainable Finance & Data Analytics.
Her research covers banking and financial-services innovation, corporate governance, mergers & acquisitions, risk management for banks/SMEs, fintech and alternative finance, entrepreneurship, creativity & innovation in higher education, and distance learning.
Prof. Mihai-Yiannaki has coordinated or contributed to many EU-funded projects including 4ArtPreneur, DIMAS, FA-ST, SHADOWS, GET-UP, ANGEL, ARDES, ICTEntrepreneur and SCIENT.
Internationally, she has acted as grant evaluator for bodies such as European Science Foundation (ESF), the World Bank, ministries in Montenegro and Israel, and serves on editorial boards including for Global Business and Economics Review.
Her recognitions include the “Best Research” award at a EuroMed conference (2014), “Best Reviewer” (2013), a Contributor Award from EuroMed Research Business Institute (2009), and being a finalist for a Fulbright Scholarship (2003).
