Since 2004, she is Full Professor of Philosophy of law; Visiting Senior Research Fellow at the King’s College London (2013); Visiting Scholar at Boston College (2015); 2002-2006: she was member of the Italian National Bioethics Committee; 2007-2018, Vice-Chair; 2018-2023 Deputy Vice-Chair of the Italian National Bioethics Committee at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers; 2010-2023, member of the European Group on Ethics in Science and New Technologies; 2013-2025, Italy’s official delegate to the Steering Committee of Human Rights in the field of Biomedicine and Health, Council of Europe; 2016-2023, member of the UNESCO International Bioethics Committee; 2022-2025, member of the National Ethics Committee for pediatric pharmacological trials, at Italian Agency for Pharmaceuticals (AIFA);since 2023, member of the Commission of Ethics in Research and Integrity of Research, National Research Council of Italy; since 2023: member of the Ethics Commission for Integrity in Research, La Sapienza University; corresponding member (since 2008); ordinary member (since 2021); member of the Steering Committee (since 2022) of the Pontifical Academy for Life.
